johnToday we toasted John Morton, AIA as he enters retirement after practicing architecture for more than 50 years.

A little history: In 1972, Morton opened the firm of John F. Morton, Jr. and Associates, Architects. In 1991 Mr. Morton merged his practice with Verges Associates Architects to found Morton Verges Architects, which in 2006 merged with Rome Architecture to become VergesRome Architects.

LSU Dental School Annex Building is out of the ground!The new LSU Dental School Annex Building is out of the ground, with the first concrete slab pour on the July 4th weekend.  VergesRome/Mathes Brierre Architects, A Joint Venture, designed the new, raised, two-story Annex building to house operations that previously occupied the basement and first floors of the Clinic Building damaged in Hurricane Katrina. Operations to be housed in the new facility include dental surgery rooms, dental operatories, faculty practice dental clinic, housekeeping, shipping and receiving operations, public reception, laboratories, student teaching, research, and training facilities.
