VergesRome Architects and The Sulzer Group are honored to have been chosen to lead Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College’s disaster recovery efforts.
On Friday, March 11, 2016, floodwaters from the Bogue Falaya River inundated Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College with nearly two feet of water. The impact of the flood far surpasses damages suffered in Hurricane Katrina — especially in light of record enrollment in the seminary. Fortunately no one was hurt, however 31 buildings were damaged. Seminary classes resumed after Easter, but the Abbey and campus remain closed to the public.
Additional photos of the flooding and immediate aftermath can be seen here on the Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College website.
