VergesRome Interior Designer Begins Third Term of Board Leadership

VergesRome Architects is proud to announce that Kris Lowry, RID, has been named Vice President of Special Events for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Delta Regional Chapter. This marks her third term serving on the chapter’s board, reflecting her continued commitment to leadership, advocacy, and connection within the commercial interior design community.

Kris’s IIDA journey began with a focus on advocacy. She first joined the board as VP of Advocacy, later served as Chapter President, and now takes on a new role in event planning and engagement.

Her dedication to the profession and its future is clear:

Why are you involved with IIDA?

“I originally joined to support advocacy efforts for the interior design profession. There is still a lot of misunderstanding around the full scope of services licensed interior designers offer and the depth of our skills. I wanted to help educate the public on what we do and protect our licensure here in the state.”

What do you get out of it professionally or personally?

“Prior to joining IIDA, I did not understand how legislation affected my profession. I took for granted that the laws in place would always protect the legal recognition of our qualifications.

IIDA has helped me to better understand the powers that determine interior designers’ minimum standard of competency. Additionally, I have the opportunity to network with other interior designers and firms in the Delta region.”

Why is IIDA important to the profession as a whole?

“IIDA Delta Regional Chapter is part of a larger whole. As chapters in other regions make educational and legislative progress in their respective states, we too can learn those lessons and apply what they have established in our own chapter. Networking opportunities are available at the national level as well. Every year, leadership conferences bring members of all chapters together, so I am able to grow my professional network further through board service.”

Kris’s thoughtful leadership continues to elevate the interior design profession, both in the region and beyond. We’re proud to support her work and celebrate this new chapter in her service with IIDA.

Congratulations, Kris!
