Stephanie Calamari has been associated with VergesRome Architects since joining the firm as an intern architect in 1997. She earned her professional registration in Louisiana in 2005, and in 2008 she was named as a Partner in the firm. Her experience as a Project Manager has primarily been in the areas of retail, multi-family housing, and education. Recent projects include the $39 Million Southern University New Orleans Faculty and Student Housing, and several Plaquemines Parish School Board new School and Faculty Housing projects in Port Sulphur, Buras that total approximately $100 Million in construction value. She also assisted project teams for the Plaquemines Parish School Board’s Head Start facility in Belle Chasse, and the South Plaquemines Vehicle Maintenance Facility. Ms. Calamari was also Project Architect for three new branch facilities for First NBC Bank, in Metairie, Lakeview, and Jefferson, and new Best Buy retail locations in Jefferson and Metairie. Stephanie has gained relevant project experience in the areas of due diligence, permit coordination, zoning issues and zoning appeals. She has interfaced extensively with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, and GOHSEP to facilitate planning and achievement of project objectives in hurricane recovery projects and projects requiring wetlands determinations. Ms. Calamari earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art at Newcomb College and a Master of Architecture from Tulane University. She acts as liaison to the firm’s Information Technology consultants to provide the VRA team with the latest software, hardware, network, FTP, BIM and digital rendering resources, and the appropriate training.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: Attended Lighting, Ceiling Systems, Concrete Building Systems; Window, Furniture and Technology Seminars. Visited carpet manufacturing plant and nylon production plant.

SERVICE TO THE PROFESSION: Associate Director, A.I.A. New Orleans, 2000, 2001, and 2002; CANstruction Chairperson, 2000; CANstruction Gala Chairperson – 2001; LAA Convention Committee Member, 1999; A.I.A. Louisiana Intern Committee, 2000 and 2001; LAA Associate Director 2002.
