VergesRome Architects | New Orleans Architectural Firm

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Edward L. Rodriguez’s passing on Wednesday evening. Known as Mr. Eddie around the office, he was reknowned as “The Code Expert.” Mr. Eddie began practicing architecture in 1955 and was with VergesRome Architects for 52 years, starting in 1965 with Underwood Verges and Associates. His peaceful, creative spirit will be deeply missed by all of us at VRA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church, 8900 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

VRA’s team was there as the 2017 edition of the popular Monk Run made its triumphant return to the beautiful grounds of Saint Joseph Abbey, following the extensive flooding last March, which resulted in $35 million in damage. The annual 1-mile / 5k trail run and walk took place on Saturday, March 18 at Saint Joseph Abbey, located in St. Benedict, Louisiana, north of Covington.

johnToday we toasted John Morton, AIA as he enters retirement after practicing architecture for more than 50 years.

A little history: In 1972, Morton opened the firm of John F. Morton, Jr. and Associates, Architects. In 1991 Mr. Morton merged his practice with Verges Associates Architects to found Morton Verges Architects, which in 2006 merged with Rome Architecture to become VergesRome Architects.

We’re all going to miss you John!
